Photo and Video Club Constitution
Electronic Photo and Video Communications

Changes in the club constitution will be considered at the 6 March, 2003 meeting.  The meeting is scheduled to be held immediately after school in room 215A at Dorman High School.

PRESENT DHS PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB CONSTITUTION

 

Article 1:  The name of the club shall be the Dorman High School Photography Club.

 

Article 2: The primary objectives of the club are:

A.    to acquaint beginning photographers with the basics of 35mm photography

B.     to develop within some interested members sufficient advanced photographic skills to take a process acceptable photos to DHS and community publications

C.     to train interested members in the proper use of video taping equipment.

 

Article 3: Annual Dues will be $3.00.

 

Article 4: The frequency of meetings will be:

A.    September and Octoberweekly

B.     November through Januarytwice monthly

C.     February through Maymonthly

 

Article 5: Club officers names will be placed in nomination by sponsor(s) and will be voted into office by a majority of the members present.  The duties of each officer will be outlined by the club sponsor(s).  The 6 club officers will be:

A.    Chief photographer and assistant

B.     Chief darkroom technician and assistant

C.     Chief video photographer and assistant

 

Article 6: Membership is extended to all faculty members and students at Dorman High School and will be divided into three categories depending upon each members specific interests and desire for involvement.

A.    Membermust attend 2 of the 5 training sessions and 5 regularly scheduled meetings during the 1st semester.

B.     Active membermust attend all 5 training sessions and 5 regularly scheduled meetings during the first semester.  Active members may use club equipment on assignments during the school day.

C.     Club photographermust be an active member and have had photos approved for publication in The Cavalier, Vanguard, or local newspaper.  Club photographers may use club equipment on assignments during the school day.

 

Article 7: Sources of revenue for club projects shall be: club dues, candy sales, and photo sales.

 

Article 8:  Funds to pay for consumable goods will be dispersed by the sponsor(s).  Funds for equipment will be dispersed as ruled by majority vote of the members present.

PROPOSED DHS PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB CONSTITUTION

 

Article 1:  The name of the club shall be the Dorman High School and Video Club.

 

Article 2: The primary objectives of the club are:

A.      to acquaint beginning photographers and videographers with the basics of photography and videography.

B.       to train interested members in the proper use of video taping equipment.

C.      to develop within some interested members sufficient advanced photographic and videographic skills to take acceptable photos and videos for Dorman High School and community broadcasts and publications.

 

Article 3: Annual Dues will be $5.00.

 

Article 4: The frequency of meetings will be determined by the sponsor(s) with the advise of the clubs officers.

 

Article 5: The club will have 4 officers.  Officers names will be placed in nomination by club members or sponsor(s) at the 2nd meeting of an academic year and will be voted into office by a majority of the members present at the 3rd meeting of an academic year.  When the sponsor(s) deem(s) necessary, the nominations of club officers may be negated by the sponsor(s).  When necessary, the sponsor(s) may remove officers and appoint temporary officers.  The duties of each officer will be outlined by the club sponsor(s).  The 4 club officers will be:

A.      President         B.   Vice-president      C.   Treasurer        D.    Secretary

 

Article 6: Membership is extended to all faculty members and students at Dorman High School and will be divided into three categories depending upon each members specific interests and desire for involvement.

A.      Memberany student or faculty member will be deemed a member on attendance at a regularly scheduled meeting and on that students or faculty members request.  Once accepted for membership, the student or faculty member must attend 2 training sessions and 2 of 3 regularly scheduled meetings during their membership.  A student who is presently a student in the Electronic Photo and Video Class or who has completed the class with a grade of A or B will be deemed to have completed 2 training sessions.  Members may use club equipment only when assigned to do so by the sponsor(s).

B.       Active memberany student or faculty member who has attended all but 2 regularly scheduled meetings in a semester, has met training requirements for membership, and has participated in at least 2 extracurricular activities or completed 2 extra-curricular club assignments during their first semester will be an active member.  Active members may use club equipment on assignments during the school day.

C.      Club photographer/videographermust be an active member and have had photos approved for publication in The Cavalier, Vanguard, or local newspaper or have had video approved for use on the DTV News.  Club photographer/videographer may use club equipment on assignments during the school day.

 

Article 7: Sources of revenue for club projects shall be: club dues, fundraisers approved by the sponsor(s), and photo and video production and sales.  However, additional sources may be approved by sponsor(s).

 

Article 8:  Funds to pay for consumable goods and equipment of less than $100 will be dispersed by the sponsor(s).  Funds for consumable goods and equipment of more than $100 will be dispersed as ruled by majority vote of the members present.  In the event that a disbursement of funds for equipment is necessary at times when the club cannot meet in a timely manner, the sponsor(s) will disburse the funds with the consent of the school principal.
